Issue Panel on Marketing Elderly Nutrition Services
Washington, DC - Date to be determined
This meeting, conducted by the Center, will call together experts in the field of nutrition and aging, AoA, SUA Nutritionists, and representatives from the Meals on Wheels Association of America and the National Association of Nutrition and Aging Services Programs to develop a marketing plan. The need to develop such a plan of action came out of the Nutrition 2030 Expert Advisory Council Strategic Planning Conference (November 1999). The actions to address include the following:
-
ENPs get together and develop unified messages with State Units on Aging, Area Agencies on Aging, etc.
-
Identify common audiences for a unified message.
-
Develop methods/tactics to disseminate this message, i.e., radio, television, print media, internet.
-
Increase the visibility of the Elder Care Locator service.
-
Work with the Advertising Council or other entity to develop appropriate messages.
-
Develop a means to evaluate the impact of the marketing strategies.
The Center will facilitate the development and implementation of the marketing strategies developed by the panel.
