The Performance Outcomes Measures Project (POMP)
The Performance Outcomes Measures Project (POMP) has been sponsored by the Administration on Aging (AoA) to develop performance based measures for evaluating Title III services. Another goal is to develop a prototype system for recording and reporting agency level information. POMP is a multi-agency collaboration involving state and local agencies on aging, AoA, Westat and consultants. *The Nutritional Risk Survey, which has been developed for this project, is a tool for measuring a client's current nutritional risk. It includes items from the Nutritional Screening Initiative (NSI) and the Household Food Security Scale. It provides a quantitative look at the kinds and amount of foods the client is eating and provides the ability to monitor small changes in food behavior, such as the increase of one additional serving of fruits and vegetables. The 2001 survey instrument differs slightly from the 2000 version. There is now one question on food security and a question on fluid intake was added. Also available: *Survey Materials for 2001 and 2000.
