ADA's Center for Professional
Development will host a live, interactive phone teleseminar "The
Carbohydrate Craze" on June 23, 2004 to discuss the new research and
scientific data available on low carbohydrate diet modifications utilized
as a potential method for weight control.

Practices in Physical Activity. (2004). For professionals, a brochure
highlights 10 best practices in physical activity for older adults to provide
information about developing, implementing, and sustaining successful community-based

this booklet, a list of FREE consumer publications in Spanish, includes

this report provides statistics on the food security of households and

a power point presentation gives up to date information on the physical

a wealth of information on physical activity for the older adult. National

Steps to Better Health. For professionals and consumers, the website
provides information on ways to integrate better eating and activity habits
into one's life one by one. Health and Human Services.

Women's
Fitness Planner. For consumers, this information helps women
determine if they are getting enough physical activity to optimize health.
It is based on a behavior change model with messages tailored to the user's
current level of activity and gives suggestions on how to improve, if necessary.
